Shiny shiny!
I like the moment when I pull back the cover and see the results of resin on a finished piece. These turned out great--nearly flawless mirror finish!

More pieces for s.n.a.c.k. Series
Here are two more pieces in work for the s.n.a.c.k. series--at the least, they need resin to bring out the grain on the recycled wood. They are 20"x16" to complement the smaller 11"x8" pieces, and should be done in time for next weekend's Spring Open Studios.

I'm thinking about adding another element to the one with the orange popsicle--hmmmm, a robot perhaps? :-) :-)

Next weekend: Spring SOMA Open Studios at Arc Gallery.

S.N.A.C.K.

April Open Studios is coming up! I'll be showing pieces in my new S.N.A.C.K. series at Arc Gallery April 1-3.
S.N.A.C.K. stands for Sugary Neural Active Caloric Kin. I add eyes to everything--can't help it--as if everything is alive.
This icecream sandwich reminds me of the hovering spaceship in District 9. I painted it quite unintentionally, but now I have to go
read Childhood's End, by Arthur C. Clarke--another sci-fi story featuring spacecrafts hovering over cities.
Check out the rest of the S.N.A.C.K. pieces at johnnybotts.com, or you are welcome to visit ARC for Open Studios...
