Carats

The design on this 10x10 piece wraps around all of the edges. The original idea was to feature a girl robot loving her diamonds--something for which "size matters." While painting it, I thought it would be fun to add 3 carrots too.

I'm continuing to learn more about the resin process. By accident, I found out it is *very* important to keep the resin uncontaminated. I had re-used a stir stick that had previously been used to stir oil paint, and tiny specks of dried paint broke off into the mixture. They were too small to notice. When the resin cured, there were dimples in the surface, each centered around a speck of paint--very strange looking!

The next day, I re-coated the piece to smooth everything out, and now it's all better. Whew! I'll get this on my website once I finish the rest of the series.
