Most of the pieces in Driftwood Salon's “Lost and Found” show are more than simply making art on recycled materials. They feature the recycled parts as the art. There are collages of doll heads, license plates, and assorted stuff (think burning man bike decoration). Liz Mamorsky shows robots made of wooden (telephone?) boxes and parts. Most interesting to me are silhouette portraits using tiny scraps of newspaper and assembling them inside clear bottles. A lot of work! (think ship in a bottle). Most of the featured works are very sculptural, with the exception of a few paintings on found plexiglass, a window, a tabletop, and a door.
Interesting space—they have no name on the building, only a piece of driftwood over the door where a name would be. Inside, driftwood logs are hung high on the walls, and the art is suspended from them.
Worth a visit.
