Shine after 2:30 in the Morning

I know, it was actually 3:30 in the morning...

The stars in this piece were a last minute addition.

Making Daisies

This weekend, a couple came over and selected "Making Daisies" for their baby's room. The painting is new enough that I hadn't posted it on my website yet. Thanks Marcie and Mike--hope you enjoy!

How May I Help You?

I was thinking of a classic 60's flight attendant when I titled this piece. She's soft, polished, and coiffed, efficiently serving travelers who dressed up to fly. Back then, hard-cased luggage had tiny rollers and tether straps, and being a stewardess was a glamorous career.

This painting will be among 140 original works by established and emerging San Francisco artists at Artspan's Benefit Art Show & Auction, Saturday, March 27th.

Sip luscious cocktails and nibble on hors d'oeuvres while bidding on fabulous, affordable local art. Proceeds will benefit Artspan's programs, including Art for City Youth, and SF Open Studios. There will be silent auctions throughout the evening, and a special live auction too. Creative cocktail attire encouraged!

Castro

I walk past the Castro Theater often, since I live in the neighborhood. The theater is in good condition, and actively attended, showing both old and new films. The lines of people that fill the sidewalks during numerous film festivals can be bothersome at times, but when I turn the corner and see the big Castro sign, I know I'm home.

San Francisco Travelers

Today, you can capture this view of the bridge from the parking lot of Fort Funston. The structure itself is located *under* the bridge. Robot tourists of the future stop at the same location.

San Francisco Postcards

The shape and size of these window panes reminded me of postcards, so I decided to paint each one individually. Today I'll be at City Art for my shift, then the opening tonight.

The Boys at Coit

Bill and I have been to Coit Tower just once that I remember, arriving by way of the Greenwich steps. At the top, I was suprised to see a large roadway, with tour buses and cars jostling to park as close to the monument as possible. I preferred walking. A leisurely walk down the Barbary Coast trail took us back to the bustle of the city.

"The Boys at Coit" hopes to show a relaxed visit. The guys are away from their parents on the Barbary trail, joking around.

Haight/Ashbury

Growing up, sometimes I thought I was born too late and missed out on all the 60's revolutions of sex, drugs and rock and roll. In this painting, alien robots visit a future Haight Asbury looking for that magic that maybe never was.

Squatbot (the red guy) has crackled eyes from being on *something*. Cyclop (the green guy) has altered his skin. Girl-bot has flipped her wig--literally!
