Spouting Stars

Some days are more overwhelming than others. As much as I'm trying to purge and clean my studio, and also the garage, there always seems to be more. I spend too much time re-organizing a lot of "just in case" items--art supplies, unfinished projects, things to be fixed. Trying to follow flylady's advice: do a little at a time, and not beat myself up too much--but still...my studio is stacked to the rafters.

Dad

My dad doesn't use a computer, and lives far away, so has not seen much of my art beyond what I doodle on postcards. In the summer we had a family reunion. I brought a mini portfolio in a 3-ring binder so he could check out my work. I think he's proud for me, but can't imagine there's actually a market for my stuff.

In the last few years, I've had more contact with him--sending postcards, and calling often. He always says he appreciates me calling and letting him in on what's going on with my life. I feel good about that--like I am doing my part.

Cotton Candy Girl

More Tr@veLBoTts completed...this one is Cotton Candy Girl, returning to my life. I've been using a lot of Pink lately, but yesterday a tall blank canvas became a tall yellow canvas--tentatively for SquatBot painting. It is school bus yellow, which at age 10 or so, I decided was my favorite color.

Out of the Woods

The house I where I grew up backed up to a woods. There were trails, and traps, and tree forts where we played. I remember digging a pit and hiding it with branches and leaves, imagining my enemies falling in. Craigo and I climbed a tall rope ladder to one of the biggest tree forts in the woods. The 'older' kids had built it, and would have been mad to know we snuck in.
