After the Blast

This painting lingered unfinished for a long time in my studio. I had painted outlines of the robot on a background, but never filled him in. His arms especially, were just transparent outlines above the horizon--kind of ghostly. Painting on it again, I accidentally dragged my sleeve through the wet black outlines of his arms, "ruining" everything. I liked it! Suddenly I had a theme, and knew what else to do. The robot grabs for his atomic eye "after the blast."

Street Wallpaper

I can't take credit/blame for this excellent wallpaper, but saw this at Cesar Chavez under highway 101 in San Francisco, and wanted to share. At driving speed, it looks like flocked bordello wallpaper. Up close, it is revealed to be standard 11x17 sheets of paper off a copier, aligned perfectly. I hope it stays around for awhile. It classes up the joint.
